 For all this time, we know that hybrid cars was build for fuel efficiency, the example is Toyota Prius. But this crazy manufacturer, McLaren tried to build a supercar BASED IN HYBRID. What is the result then? A CRUISING BEAST!



 Simple explanation, what is hybrid and how does it works? Hybrid is a car which uses 2 source of power: engine and a battery. Does the battery has lifetime? No, because the battery recharges when the car is decellerating, or when the car runs at constant speed. So, what is the role of the battery? Battery is used when we are in a traffic jam, in a stop and go condition, and when we hit the gas deeply.

 Based in the explanation, hybrid can be described in city car, like Toyota Prius as i said before, then what it was used in a supercar? McLaren think that the power in the battery can help the car to go faster! And this insanity, in fact, is an ingenious idea!

 P1 has a very light body, because of its carbon-fibre structure, middle engine like most of supercars, and RWD system. However, this magnificent supercar has 3800cc Twin-Turbo V8 petrol engine and the turbo boost at 1,4 bar to make a 727 bHP/737 ps engine power and the 720 torque at 7500 rpm.

 But not just that. With additional power from the battery to deliver 177 bHP/179 ps to its electric motor makes total output to 904 bHP/ 914 ps and torque worth at 980 nm. What an insanity that came from creativity to make 0-60 mph/ 0-100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds, 0-124/ 0-200 km/h mph in 6.2 seconds, 0-186 mph/ 0-299 km/h could be done 16.5 seconds.

 P1 also has unique features to keep it rolling on the asphalt, like Instant Power Assist System to deliver instant boost as the gas pedal hit via electric motor, Drag Reduction System that automatically pull out the car's spoiler to make a downforce after reaching 80 km/h if i am not mistaken. The total downforce of this car is 600 kg with the car weighted 1,547 kg.

Just hit the gas and feel the sensation of 900 HP roaring behind your back 

 This is an electric beast! Beware! In Silverstone circuit, P1 beats its rivals, Laferrari and Porsche 918. P1 make it done in 58.24 seconds, 918 in 58.46 seconds, and the last is Laferrari in 58.58 seconds.
